Each passenger thus underwent three Separate and Distinct Medical

examinations by the Port Authorities on three separate days. In Salina

Cruz the examination occupied less than Half a day.

Just before the Ship left the passengers received their

"Passports" signed by the Mexican Consul and Port Doctor and stating that

the passengers were free from all traces of infectious disease when

leaving Hong Kong.

HEALTH DURING VOYAGE;- The health of Ship during voyage was

excellent in every respect. In my three years' experience of Indian and

Chinese emigration I have never seen a more healthy crowd.

With 562 passengers on board ship for 41 days this is surely satis-

factory.

ARRIVAL IN SALINA CRUZ:,- On Friday June 12th, about 7.00 a.m.,

ship arrived in Salina Cruz and the passengers were all mustered in the

Vers Part of ship awaiting the Doctor.

The day passed and no doctor arrived. 562 passengers were prowded together under a burning sun awaiting the Port Authorities.

The same night I treated many cases of Headache, Exhaustion, etc.,
